Event at the Brasserie du Merle

Our friends at Brasserie du Merle regularly host or organize events at their premises (4km from the cottage, in Puygros). Next dates:

🧙‍♀️ Friday, October 30th: Fraîcheur Sorcière (“Witchy Freshness”) — a concert-performance featuring a cauldron, songs, and plenty of vociferations!

🕊️ Friday, November 13th: Musique aux Frontières (“Music at the Borders”) will be sharing stories from the Calais “Jungle” through song.

On these Fridays, the bar opens at 6:00 PM, with concerts starting around 8:00 PM. Food and drinks are available on-site! 🙂

Winter equipments

CAUTION ! From 1 November to 31 March, all vehicles must have special equipments :

• “four seasons” or snow tires on drive wheels ;
• snow chains or snow socks in the trunk

If you do not live in a mountain area, we suggest you bring chains or socks, cheaper although less practical.

Spa treatments nearby

In the nearby town of Challes-les-Eaux, the thermal baths closed in 2023. Therefore, treatments for respiratory or gynecological conditions are no longer available. More information is available here.

21 km away, you’ll find the two thermal spas of Aix-les-Bains, which offer treatments for rheumatology (Thermes Chevalley) and respiratory ailments (Thermes Marlioz). The Thermes Chevalley also offers a range of relaxation activities around its spa, at considerable prices.

35 km away, the Allevard thermal baths also offer treatments for rheumatology and respiratory conditions.
