Update 01/09/2026.
Facilities (design, furniture, accessories)
We wanted to welcome people with disabilities. For this, we obtained the “Tourisme et Handicap” accreditation in May 2009. This was renewed in 2015, 2019, and once again in april 2024, for the four impairments: motor, visual, auditory and mental.
This article summarizes the improvements that have been made to their comfort. With each visit of the regional services, we got new suggestions to improve signage or accessories. And our customers with disabilities are also bound to make comments that we try to take into account.
The entrance WINDOW DOORS, like all the doors of the cottage, have the sufficient width for the passage of a wheelchair (0.90m). They are at the level of the tarred yard, with an aluminum threshold which means no step.
Some markers have been placed for visually impaired persons,on the patio doors, the shower window, the baking sheet.

KITCHEN
The kitchen has also been specially designed to make easier to approach the wheelchairs. In the dining room the table was built with the same intention. Custom-made with its legth-cut ties, it allows people in wheelchairs to sit comfortably.
BEDROOMS
La hauteur des lits est réglable à votre goût.
Each room is large enough to install a medical bed that can be rented in advance at Matériel Médical de Savoie: (+33)9 67 19 40 35.
Installation according to your needs: it is possible, in each room, to leave a single bed for the accompanying person and to install a medical bed, or only a medical bed, with eventually a sick lift if necessary.
However, we cannot install two medical beds simultaneously—neither in the same room nor in both rooms.
SANITARIES FACILITES
In the bathroom, the sink, with its ergonomic shape and staggered evacuation allows people with reduced mobility to lean on the edge and access the taps very easily.
The Italian shower contains a seat and the coat racks are set at 1.30m high.
The toilet is wide enough to accommodate an electric wheelchair and transfer from the right (fixed grab bar) or left (raising grab bar). A cord allows the door to be closed once seated.

Activity suggestions
Handitourism – Tourist portal dedicated to people with reduced mobility. See also the 32 “comfortable walks” in Savoie: a map and a descriptive sheet for each one (unfortunatly only in french !).
- Belvedere du Revard: A breathtaking landscape. View over the cliff on a window! Remarkable, with the equivalent of an orientation table in the form of vertical windows to identify the peaks. 28 km from the cottage.
- Mandrin’s lair: Many activities; an original, fun and educational visit: 6 rooms, mysterious and disturbing atmospheres to discover Mandrin. Accessible in a wheelchair. A route to discover the region of the Savoy foreland. (42 km from the cottage).
- “Acro-aventures” Near Lake Annecy in Talloires, a magnificent adventure field that has not forgotten the PRM with its forest of the senses very pleasant and playful. To do with your family. (80 km from the cottage).
- “Live-loisirs-nature-adaptés”“: This non-profit organization offers in the country of Thônes (82 km from the cottage), all formulas of walks in machines adapted to any kind of disability for PRM. Surprising: anything becomes possible! Go to their website, you’ll be confused.

In winter, come and enjoy the pleasure of skiing, accompanied by a motivated professional from the French Ski School (ESF). At Aillons-Margériaz, the closest resort to the cottage, you can try the individual handiski course lasting one and a half hours; you will be there in 40 minutes by road, always clear. You could possibly find elsewhere in Savoie, but at the cost of kilometers of road: Les Karellis, Val Thorens, La Plagne, etc… In any case, remember to book in advance.
Pleasure of the air:
- go paragliding with Frédéric, live an unforgettable moment thanks to personalized support in secure equipment;
- With Bertrand from Antipodes Zeb, his good humor and his energy, everything is possible: a flight on the highest peaks in a microlight, for example. Here, Jérôme

Opinion of affected users
Many people with disabilities came alone or accompanied to enjoy our beautiful region; some do not want to talk about it, others are more loquacious. You will find below their testimonials filed on our guestbook.
All these people and many others have helped us to complete and adapt our offer. We thank them very much.
Main Assets
Stay from June 21 to July 5, 2025
We had a wonderful stay in the Bauges region. Your cottage is very well adapted for a wheelchair user. But the main assets of this cottage are your welcome, your attentiveness, your walking advice, and the FESTIFOIN.

Excellent week
Stay from September 7 to 14, 2024
Excellent week at the Soldanelles.
Thank you to the owners for their welcome and kindness upon our arrival, their valuable advice on the sites to discover in this beautiful region… that we did not know.
And congratulations to them for this very beautiful and comfortable cottage of impeccable cleanliness, very well equipped, in line with the expectations of a PRM (manual wheelchair) with a real feeling of security.
Cottage to recommend.
We hope to come back as soon as possible.
Very cordially.

Very pleasant
Week of July 15 to 22, 2024
Very pleasant week in a very well-equipped cottage for people in wheelchairs. Quiet, clean, warm and friendly welcome.
Thank you
Extraordinary
We are finishing our eighth stay in Curienne and, as every year, we will keep an excellent memory of it. “Les Soldanelles” is an extraordinary cottage, apart from a well thought-out adaptation making it easily accessible in a wheelchair, it lacks nothing. A big thank you to Elisabeth and Marcel, always there to inform us or help us.
Gold medal
Short stay, but time enough to give you the gold medal for your warm welcome, the friendly advice for discovering the region with a walker without forgetting the accessibility of the gîte! We will come back.

Super stay
We thank you for your welcome and your kindness. The accommodation is very well suited for people with reduced mobility. We had a great stay.
Very good ad
Stay from September 9 to 16, 2023
We thank you for your welcome and your kindness. Your advices for visits were very useful to us, allowing us to discover your beautiful mountainous region.
The restaurants are to be recommended…. but we have not noted the addresses, except that of Curienne! (which is closed since november 2023 — webmaster)
THANKS. We will make very good ADVERTISING for you!!!
Kind regards
Very good accessibility for paraplegics
(manual wheelchair)
Only one desire: to come back!
We are finishing our seventh stay in Soldanelles. As usual, we will leave with only one desire, to come back. Everything is perfect, the great welcome from Marcel and Elisabeth, the comfort of the cottage, the superb view of the mountain, the layout, making it completely accessible for disabled people… In short, an idyllic place where you feel very WELL.
A big thank you to Elisabeth and Marcel.
What a pleasure !
After a NANTES – CURIENNE trip, what a pleasure to be welcomed by the availability and kindness of Elisabeth and Marcel, in this cottage that we did not know about!!! The cottage is located on the ground floor of the owners’ house, entirely on one level and suitable for people with reduced mobility.
After the visit and Elisabeth’s good advice, we felt “at home”!! And thank you for your little attentions
Unfortunately Nadège's testimony above (page 3) is no longer relevant: to move with your own wheelchair in the Chambéry agglomeration, you now have to pay a higher price. If you do not have a suitable vehicle for your wheelchair, and are not permanently domiciled on the territory of the Chambéry agglomeration, it is necessary to make a request for a quote to:
